Talent Strand

Executive Search

Executive Search from Talent Strand fills your most senior roles with leaders who are ready to own the outcome. We cover chief executives, presidents, CFOs, COOs, CTOs, CHROs, CROs, vice presidents, general managers and board seats.

This is a retained, research-led search. You agree a target list of companies with us, then we go directly to people who are not job hunting. The roles sit on your payroll as full-time hires. We use structured interviews that probe judgment, operating style and past decisions. Scope includes chief executive and president mandates, the full executive committee: CFO, COO, CTO, CHRO and CRO, plus vice presidents, general managers and board or advisory seats.

Confidential searches run under an NDA when an incumbent is still in post. We manage referencing, offer terms and resignation support so the person you choose can start cleanly. Because the method is research-led, you see candidates you would not meet through a job posting. You stay close to the search through written updates and shortlist reviews.

When this is the right choice

  • You need a chief executive or president and want a search that reaches people who are not applying anywhere.
  • A board seat or advisory role calls for a quiet, confidential process with no public posting.
  • You have an incumbent in the role and need to replace them without alerting your market.
  • Your search covers a specialized function like CFO, CTO or CHRO where the strongest candidates are often passive.
  • You want direct contact with leaders at a named set of competitor or peer companies.

How it runs

  1. Map the target list

You agree a list of companies and roles that fit the mandate. We use that list as the starting point for research and direct outreach.

  2. Approach and screen

We contact people directly, including those who are not job hunting. Structured interviews follow for every candidate who engages.

  3. Present a shortlist

You meet candidates we have interviewed and referenced. We share written summaries of each person's background and decision record.

  4. Close and support

We manage the offer conversation, notice period and resignation support for the person you hire. We stay involved until the start date.

Questions employers ask

What makes a retained search different?

A retained search means Talent Strand works on the mandate from start to finish, with the fee agreed before the work begins. You get the full research effort from the first day. The process focuses on direct contact with people who are not looking.

How do you reach people who are not job hunting?

We build a target list of companies and roles with you, then approach those people directly by phone, email or a professional network. We describe the role and the business case without broadcasting the search. Many of these candidates agree to talk because the opportunity is specific and confidential.

Can you run a search while someone still holds the role?

Yes. Confidential searches run under an NDA when an incumbent is still in post. We agree a communication plan with you before any outreach begins. The person in the role is not contacted and the search stays quiet until you decide to move.

What does offer and resignation support include?

We manage the offer conversation with the candidate, including compensation and start date. We also help the person you hire resign from their current employer and plan a clean handover. This support continues until the start date on your payroll.
