Talent Strand

Nursing and Clinical recruitment

You need nurses and clinical staff on your payroll who can start with the right license and the right credentials. Talent Strand finds registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, nurse practitioners, therapists, and medical assistants for payroll roles in every U.S. state.

The market for licensed clinical staff stays tight in most regions. Rural counties compete with large health systems for the same RNs. Employers that understand this can widen their search quickly, because a hospital in Indiana can consider a nurse in Texas if both hold compact privileges and the candidate agrees to relocate or work in a role that allows multistate practice. Compact licensure lets a nurse in a compact state accept a role in another compact state without waiting for a new single state license. Clinics, long term care providers, surgery centers, and home health agencies all draw from the same pool. The nurses who stay are the ones who see a clear schedule, a stable payroll, and a manager who responds.

Hiring goes wrong when someone screens for a generic nurse instead of the exact role. The screening for an ICU RN differs from the screening for a school nurse. A nurse practitioner with family certification may lack the acute care credential for an acute care NP job. State scope of practice differs. Medical assistants in one state may draw blood, give injections, or handle prior authorizations; in another state those tasks are off limits. Employers lose candidates by asking for active BLS before checking whether the candidate already holds ACLS or PALS. The fix is to list the real requirements: license type, compact status, certifications, shift, and patient population. Talent Strand verifies each item before a resume ever reaches your desk.

How candidates are assessed

We check the license directly with the state board and confirm compact status where it applies, because a license that looks current in one database may have a restriction in another. We verify BLS and any specialty certifications like ACLS, PALS, TNCC, or NIH Stroke Scale. We ask about patient population, shift history, and the charting systems they have used. We confirm scope of practice for medical assistants in your state. We also ask for proof of education and any advanced practice certification through a national board. You see only candidates who meet the requirements you set.

Where we recruit for these roles

Northeast, Midwest, South, West, and every state in between. Popular cities include New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston, San Antonio, Austin.

Questions employers ask

What is a compact license and why does it matter?

A compact license lets a nurse hold one multistate license and practice in other compact states. It removes the wait for a new single state license. Employers can interview candidates who live in a compact state without a long licensure delay.

How do you verify state licenses?

We check with the state board for every candidate. We confirm the license number, status, and any discipline on the record. We also confirm compact privilege where it applies.

Can you find nurses for overnight shifts or weekend roles?

Yes. You tell us the shift and the schedule. We screen for candidates who have worked those hours and want them.

How long does it take to see candidates?

It depends on the role and the state. We send candidates as soon as they clear verification. You set the priorities for license, certifications, and start date.
