Talent Strand

Engineering recruitment

You need engineers who can own a project from drawing to floor. Talent Strand finds mechanical, electrical, civil, process and quality engineers for payroll roles across all 50 states.

PE licenses open doors. Demand for mechanical, electrical, civil, process and quality engineers stays strong in most U.S. regions. A civil engineer with a PE license can sign off on public infrastructure work. Many employers compete for candidates who can use CAD tools such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks or Revit. Companies that hire engineers against a written spec for software, certifications and industry background tend to make fewer rushed decisions than businesses that react to an open req.

Hiring for engineering roles often stalls when the job description lists every CAD package ever released. Speed matters. A mechanical engineer who designs sheet metal parts in SolidWorks may not need Inventor on day one. When a hiring manager writes a job description for an electrical engineer without naming the control systems, PLC platforms or voltage ranges the role will touch, the first resume screen can pull in the wrong people. Employers also lose strong candidates by delaying a decision while the market moves. Civil roles that require a PE license need early license verification. Quality engineers should be screened against the specific standard your plant follows, such as ISO 9001 or AS9100.

How candidates are assessed

Details matter. We screen engineering candidates against the specific tools and standards in your job spec. For a mechanical role that means checking CAD experience in the exact software your team uses, whether that is SolidWorks, Inventor, Creo or AutoCAD. For a civil role that requires signing authority, we verify the candidate's PE license with the state board before you spend an hour on the phone. Electrical candidates get asked about the PLC platforms, control panels and voltage ranges they have actually wired or programmed. Process and quality engineers are reviewed for documented work with the relevant standards, such as ISO 9001, AS9100 or FDA quality system regulations. We also check that any claimed degree comes from an ABET-accredited engineering program.

Where we recruit for these roles

Questions employers ask

What types of engineering roles do you fill?

We fill mechanical, electrical, civil, process and quality engineering roles, plus adjacent roles like manufacturing and plant engineering. The roles can be entry-level or senior, and we place people directly on your payroll.

Do you handle engineering roles that require a PE license?

Yes. For any civil or other role where a PE seal is required, we confirm the license is active in the state where the work happens. The employer still makes the final call on whether the license scope fits the job.

Can you screen for specific CAD or technical skills?

Yes. We check the candidate's hands-on work with your software, whether that is SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Revit or another package. We also ask about standards like ISO 9001 or AS9100 when the role calls for them.

How do you keep engineering searches from dragging on?

We ask you to give us a clear spec up front and agree on a decision timeline. That lets us move candidates through screening without losing them to competing offers. You stay in control of who you interview and hire.
